Scheduled Special Issues

Observation, analysis and modelling of solar and heliospheric processes

  • Guest Editors: M. Temmer, C. Scott, V. Fedun, L. Ofman, and J. Wild
  • Timeline: 20 Mar 2014 – 15 Jun 2014

The understanding and prediction of physical processes in the Earth space environment has become the main focus by solar and magnetospheric scientists. The Second UK-Ukraine meeting on Solar Physics and Space Science held in Kiev, Ukraine on 16–20 September 2013 was devoted to these problems. The meeting was very successful and gathered more than 50 participants from 10 countries. A broad range of aspects of solar physics, space science and solar-terrestrial relations was covered. The purpose of "Observation, analysis and modelling of solar and heliospheric processes" special issue is to present the novel results reported during the meeting. We kindly invite the participants and other researchers to submit their results to this special issue of Annales Geophysicae.

C/NOFS results and equatorial ionospheric dynamics

  • Guest Editors: M. Pinnock, J. Klenzing, J. Retterer, L. C. Gentile, R. Stoneback, O. De La Beaujardiere, and F. Rodrigues
  • Timeline: 01 May 2013 – 15 Nov 2013

The C/NOFS Results and Equatorial Dynamics Technical Interchange Meeting was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 12–14 March 2013. The meeting was a great success with nearly 80 participants, and covered topics including the numerical simulations of plasma irregularities, the effects of tides, stratospheric phenomena, and magnetic storms on the upper atmosphere, causes and predictions of scintillation-causing ionospheric irregularities, current and future instrumentation efforts in the equatorial region. We invite the participants of this meeting, or other researchers with closely aligned research aims, to submit their new and original research topics to the special issue of Annales Geophysicae, titled "C/NOFS results and equatorial ionospheric dynamics".
